"First Steps" - Video

Allie took her real first steps about a week and a half after her first birthday, but since I was usually the only one to see her, it was very difficult to catch it on video.   Since then, she would take a few steps here and there, but always walking towards me and usually falling into me on the last step.  She's been walking with walking toys since about 11 months, and loves to push furniture and toys around to get her from place to place.  She'll push an ottoman across the room to get her to her toys...smart girl...and strong!

Just this week she's starting standing herself up and taking steps on her own.  I was finally able to catch some of it on video on Sunday morning.   (she wasn't happy about me taping her at first :))
And today she's actually been walking all over the place.   She stands herself up, walks a few steps, falls, and stands back up and keeps walking.  I've just been sitting in silence watching her walk all over the living room from toy to toy.  She's 13 months old today so I'll say she officially started 'walking' at 13 months.  I'm so proud of my big toddler!

And while I'm sharing videos...she's also been doing a lot of climbing and 'dancing' on her chair.  She loves climbing in and out of her chair and she gets so proud when she climbs out and lands on her feet (she does not, however, land on her feet in this particular video)

2 Years of Wedded Bliss

I can't believe it's only been two years.  I mean we have a one year old...something about that doesn't seem right...but I wouldn't change a thing about the past two years.   I am so thankful for my family, especially my husband who makes it all possible.

I remember all too well the feeling of planning our wedding and wanting it all to be perfect.  And then when it was over I remember thinking it wasn't EXACTLY how I wanted it and there were so many things I would have done differently.   But two years later, I look back at these pictures (thank you Watson-Studios for always doing an amazing job) and I realize now that it couldn't have been more perfect.   I will always cherish these pictures of one of the most special days of my life (coming in a very close second to the day Allie was born).

Jeffrey David Pitta, thank you for being my best friend, my biggest supporter, and the best Daddy to our beautiful girl.  I love you so much and am so lucky that you chose me.

Love always,
Wifey

Allie's 1st Birthday Party!!

We had Allie's first birthday party the day before her actual birthday.  I have been thinking about this party pretty much since the day she was born and it turned out even more perfect then I could have imagined.  My mom came in town a few days early to help me get things ready and to help take care of Allie while I cooked the food.  I'm not gonna lie, it was a lot of work, but it was honestly worth every bit of it.   Though she may have been slightly overwhelmed, as she usually is around large groups or people she's not used to being around, I think she had a great time.  Of course I'm aware that the first birthday is more for the mom then it is the baby, but I think we were BOTH satisfied with it.  And if she wasn't....well she's not gonna remember it anyways so it doesn't matter :).

Not very interested in the cake...I was SHOCKED!

As usual, wiping her hands off in her hair

Sharing her cake with Mommy...so sweet of her!

So many of our closest family and friends came out to celebrate and it meant so much to have each one of them here.  Allie has no clue how lucky she is to have so many people who love her so much.  She was spoiled beyond belief with presents and my living room now looks like toys r us.

She was way too tired by the end of her party to open presents so we let her open all of them the next morning, on her actual birthday.  She had so much fun opening gifts, but I think her favorite part was the paper & boxes.
