Happy baby

After several attempts and lots of time staring at Allie with camera in hand trying my hardest to make her smile...I finally captured a happy baby!

I also took Allie to Morgan Keegan last week to visit my work friends and she loved all of the attention.

And our first attempt in the bumbo seat...maybe a little too soon.

Thursday we had a play date with Gina & Wills at the Discovery Center in Murfreesboro.  Allie was a little (ok a lot) fussy on the way there and sweet Wills reached over and held her hand to make her stop crying...and it worked. It was so adorable.

Allie's Newborn Pictures

I'm a little late sharing these, but better late than never.  Allie had her first photo shoot at 8 days old and she was an absolute pro.  I'm pretty sure she's gonna be a model.  Here are just a few of my favorites since I can't share all 68 pictures on the blog.

Capturing moments

So I just spent the last 30 minutes laying on the floor with my camera trying to catch a picture of Allie 'smiling' and I was completely unsuccessful.  It's very frustrating.  She's just now getting a little personality and I want so badly to capture it on camera and by the time I get to my camera and take a picture...she's stone faced.  But one of these days I'm gonna catch her when she's least expecting it.

But in the meantime, here are some recent non smiling pictures of Allie.

No smile...but a yawn? Still cute

Her eyes are getting so big and bright

And a little temper tantrum...she was fed up with my photography that day

bundled up for our morning walk. I think I over did it a little
it was like 85 degrees that day.  Oops.

She loves bath time, even though she looks a little frightened in this picture, I swear she loves it.

Allie's first 'nap' in her big girl bed.  It lasted about 15 minutes tops. Baby steps.

She likes tummy time...

And someone felt left out and wanted to join in tummy time...

She's already a Vol fan
And that's how she felt about Saturday's game against GA
My pretty little princess

She loves her aunt Jenn
And she finally warmed up to uncle Mike on the third try
And some more play time
And my absolute favorite...Jeff and I were eating dinner the other night and Allie was in her swing and we looked over and this is what we saw...

And of course our first reaction is to grab the camera instead of helping her get the bow off her face.  And I continued to take pictures because this was too cute...but I finally helped her out once I had all of the photos I needed.

Let's take a vote

So I'd like to try and clear up this misconception that Allie looks "just like Jeff."  While I do think she has some of his great qualities, and Jeff was one of the cutest babies in the world so I'm not opposed to her looking like him...but I'd like to prove to all of the non believers that she actually does look like me too.  I don't know why I feel the need to win this argument, but I do, so here goes.

Here is my baby picture from about 2 months old (I think, I really have no clue how old I am in this picture).

And here is Allie at about 4 weeks old...and please note that she's wearing almost the exact same outfit that I was wearing in my baby picture.

Ok I know I'm not making a great argument here because she really looks nothing like me in that picture and it's actually not a good picture of her at all, but I liked that she was wearing the same outfit as me :). But in person if you hold her up to my baby picture, there are lots of similarities...I swear.

Here's a better picture of her face...

And just for the sake of sharing the cutest baby picture ever of Jeff...

Don't you just wanna eat up that little lamb?

I actually think I just proved myself wrong. Now that I'm looking at Allie & Jeff's pictures side by side, they do resemble each other a lot.  So maybe I'll compromise and say that she got the best qualities of both of us and she is the perfect mix :).

What do you think? Who do you think she looks like? (pick me, pick me)

Sleeping baby

I never thought I could be so entertained by a sleeping baby, but I guess I'm doing a lot of things these days that I never thought I'd do.  Allie is so intense when she's sleeping.  She always has a furrowed brow like she's deep in thought and her hands are always out either in a defensive mode like she's ready to karate chop the next person that tries to kiss her cheeks, or a 'I just got my nails done and don't wanna mess them up' position.  I don't know why I find it so entertaining, but I do.

I'm not sure what she dreams about but I'd like to get inside that little head of hers.  It never gets old, I could watch her sleep all day. Oh wait, I do.
