Nashville Baby Shower

I don't know what I did to deserve such amazing friends and family, but whatever it was, I'm sure glad I did it.  Twelve of my closest friends hosted a baby shower for me on Saturday in Nashville and it was absolutely perfect.  People traveled from all over to be there for me and Allie, from Knoxville, Memphis, Lebanon, Crossville, Chattanooga and I think the award goes to Erin from Austin, Texas and Lindsey from New York!  I don't even have words for how blessed I feel to have people that care about me and my baby so much.

The girls pulled out all the stops for the shower and I think they literally thought of everything.  Here are a few of the highlights:

Awesome diaper cake!!

More goodies on the back of the diaper cake

Even Jill came!! I've been friends with Jill since 3rd grade...that's a long time!

Sweet Cameron came to celebrate Allie too! (that's Lori, not his mom Lisa...can be very confusing for some)

Lindsey & I doing our prom pose...b/c that's what we do.
Although, I guess it's a little weird to be doing a prom pose at 9 months pregnant

Me & the twins - We have several versions of this picture over the years with one or
more of us pregnant

Me with my wonderful hostesses - I may be biased but I think I may have
the prettiest group of friends around.

Jeff stayed at his parents most of the weekend so I got lots of good quality girl time and of course my favorite, baby time.  By the time everyone had left on Sunday I was so exhausted I could hardly move, but it was SOO worth it!

I got to wake up in the mornings to these sweet faces...

Allie's BFF Bailey Kate
Allie's potential boyfriend, Jackson.  But I have a feeling her and Bailey Kate will
be fighting over him.
And just because I can't get enough of them...after the shower we went to the pool for some relaxation in the sun...

Gotta tan the backs of those legs
Just chillin in my bumbo, scoping out the ladies

Even Kiki liked playing with the babies, which is good to know because we were worried about how she was going to react when we brought Allie home.  But we should have known, as sweet as she is, that she would just want to cuddle and lick them all over.

Allie got so many great gifts, I would show you pictures...but someone forgot to take any, ughh hmm...Gina?  Just kidding Gina, I forgive you :).  I think Allie is definitely set though, especially in the clothes department.

Thank you again to the best hostesses ever and to everyone who traveled from near & far to be there to celebrate our baby girl.  You have no idea how much it meant to me to have each and every one of you there.  I had such a great time at the shower and over the whole weekend and now I'm just ready for my baby girl to get here so you all can meet her!

Work Baby Shower

My sweet friends at work threw me a baby shower last night at the office and it was so much fun!  I got so many great things (or I guess I should say Allie got so many great things) and I truly appreciated everyone that came, it really meant a lot!  Here are a few of the highlights:

Yummy Gigi's Cupcakes!
An Edible arrangement w/ white chocolate & coconut covered fruit...Amazing!

So many presents!! I couldn't believe it!!

Not really sure what's happening with the baby doll here, but I found it amusing.

I was so excited Smirn came :)
And look who else showed up for the party....
Welling was a good friend of mine that I worked with and he sadly passed away earlier this year.  For those of you that didn't know Welling, he was quite a character, as you can see from this life size cardboard cutout that we have in our office (which used to be above his desk).  Welling never misses a good party, so it was only fitting that he showed up to my baby shower...and he even brought a gift! (before you get creeped out...Linda actually got this gift from Welling's Estate sale and gave it to Allie as a gift from Welling).   How cool is this????
This is by far the coolest pop up book I've ever seen, Allie is going to LOVE it! I'm pushing 30 and I was highly entertained by it. Here are a couple of the
pages...

And of course in true Welling fashion, it was signed by the author. Thank you Welling!

This is a Michigan State onesie from Linda V., it's going to make an awesome burp cloth.  Just kidding Linda...I'll let her wear it, but only on days that UT isn't playing.

Speaking of UT, Michelle got Allie her own tailgating chair, how freakin cute is that?!?!
Makes me ready for football season!

Kari gave me this adorable crochet hat & diaper cover for Allie's newborn pictures...her friend sells them on you guessed it, ETSY!! I can't wait to have her pictures made in them!
Which reminds me that I forgot to take a picture of the knit cocoon that Amanda gave me at the shower last week...also from Etsy and also for her newborn pictures....needless to say, I am super pumped for her newborn pics!
Me & the hostesses, not sure why we decided to stand this way, but just go with it.
Thank you ladies SOO much, I had a great time!

And just when I thought the party was over, I got home and had two more awesome surprises on my doorstep...they were gifts to Allie from Heather...oh and Allie's mattress that I had ordered but I won't bore you with a picture of that, I'll just show you the good stuff!

Bunny robe with Allie's name, but I couldn't figure out how to
take a good picture of it to show you just how cute it is
so I'm also going to show you the picture from PB because it makes me smile :)  Can't
wait for Allie wear it!

Doesn't that make you want to talk baby talk?  Well it does me.

And Allie's step stool, adorable!!

Thank you again to Heather, Michelle, Linda & Sandy for throwing me such a great shower and thank you to everyone who came and for all of the wonderful gifts!!  I got so many cute clothes and lots of necessities!

We also had a Dr.'s appointment this morning and everything looked/sounded great and we are right on track for delivery in or around 6 weeks!!! AHHHHHH, I can't wait!!

Happy Friday, I hope you all have a great weekend!

Cameron Andrew

After the baby shower in Knoxville we headed over to my good friend Lisa's house to see her and her newborn baby boy Cameron Andrew.  He was born on June 29th weighing in at 8 lbs. 4 oz.  Lisa had a very quick and easy delivery and little Cameron is just perfect!

How adorable is he???? His hair is the most beautiful shade of strawberry blonde you've ever seen...I've honestly never seen a baby with such pretty hair!!

And look at these little tiny feet!! I'm a total sucker for baby feet :)

FYI - That's Jeff's hairy leg, not mine.

Lisa looks A-mazing for just having a baby...and she's such a great mommy!
Lisa also has a beautiful little girl named Natalee who has grown up so much!!

This was Natalee last year:

So funny, Cameron has that same furrowed brow when he looks at you...too cute!!

And now she's a big girl...who may or may not be smarter than me:

We love you Lisa, Cameron, & Natalee (and Mike too of course) and we are so happy for you and your new addition...your family is now complete!

On Sunday we spent the very hot afternoon indoors working on Allie's nursery.  It's not quite ready for viewing yet, but here is a small sneak peek of Daddy working hard to put up Allie's mobile...it was NOT an easy task but he got it done...because that's what Daddy's do, right?!

Our First Baby Shower

Super cute invitations!  Excuse the lighting, the lavendar color is so pretty though in person.
We had our first baby shower in Knoxville this weekend hosted by my Aunt Ann, my cousin Ashley, and my sister-in-law Amanda. We had so much fun and got so many great things for Allie.

My first diaper cake, it was SOO cute!  And that little frame in the front is Allie's first ultrasound picture and the frame says "love at first sight"...it's now in her nursery along w/ the diaper cake, love it!

Dad still wearing his sunglasses inside...he's one cool dude! :)

Opening gifts...Turner & Jeff were my little helpers

We played a couple of really fun games including baby charades & a guess the word game.  We did guys against girls and Jeff & I were against each other trying to guess the words and the charades...it was quite entertaining.  I was pretty impressed with Jeff's baby vocabulary...but he still has a lot to learn since he did mistake a pacifier for a teething ring and he couldn't guess the word 'rocking.'

We also played the "guess the belly size" game.  I'm not sure what the real name of the game is, but everyone cuts off a piece of ribbon that they think will fit around my belly and the person who comes the closest wins.  Most of the men ended up on my bad side with this game...but the women did pretty well.  Amanda though hit it right on the nose...even if she did go last and wait until everyone else had gone before she even cut her ribbon, it wasn't 'technically' cheating, and her ribbon was the perfect size!

Who's belly is bigger???

We had a lot of fun, thank you everyone for coming and thank you for all of the wonderful gifts!  We feel so blessed that our baby girl is already loved by so many people!
