One Month

I cannot believe it's been a month since Allie was born, I feel like we just brought her home.  But this has been the best month of our lives.  I obviously always knew that I would love my kids unconditionally but I honestly never imagined that I could love her this much.  I mean how could you not be completely obsessed with this sweet face??

Yesterday was our one year wedding anniversary and Jeff's parents kept Allie Saturday night so that we could celebrate.  I'm not gonna lie, it was rough, I was a complete basket case.  I mean, Allie has been attached to me in some form for almost a year now, whether she was in my belly or in my arms, so being away from her was really hard on me.  There were lots of tears, which doesn't make for a very romantic anniversary, but I did the best I could.  I knew Allie was in good hands so it wasn't that I was worried about her at all...I just missed her so much.  But Jeff booked a couples massage for us Saturday afternoon so I was able to relax for an hour and then we had dinner at Sambuca.  I had an awesome night of uninterrupted sleep which was AMAZING and we enjoyed a nice peaceful breakfast at Puckett's on Sunday morning.  And then the best part of our day was picking up our sweet baby girl.  She did so good at grandma & grandpa's and I know they loved spending time with her...but we absolutely could not wait to see her!

At one month old, Allie took her first nap in her own crib.  She only lasted about 30 minutes or so and I didn't take my eyes off of the monitor for the entire 30 minutes, but baby steps right?  And she just looked so darn sweet in there...

And one last picture of my sweet girl...

Lots of visitors

Sorry I've been so slow on the blogging but Allie has been very time consuming...in a good way.  We've had lots of visitors since Allie has been home and I just wanted to share some pictures. Sorry I didn't get pictures of everyone that came by, I was slacking with the camera, but we love you all the same!

And J.R. & Lauren (not pictured)

My friend Erica and her little boy Hudson came in town from Memphis this past weekend and we had so much fun hanging out with them.  Hudson gave Allie lots of kisses (his version of kisses is daddy approved...he just bows his head and touches you with the top of his head, it's SOO cute!).  I can't believe how much Hudson has grown up, I remember holding him when he was Allie's size, it's so crazy how quickly time flies.
Such a handsome little guy

Hudson liked Kiki too

Sorry again for those I forgot to take pictures of but we had lots of great friends and family that came by to visit and brought us meals and we appreciate it so much!!  We loved getting to see everyone and were so happy you all got to meet our princess.

Going home!!

We were so excited to finally take Allie home.  Jeff was ready to take her home about 2 hours after she was born...but I think that was mostly because he was sleeping on a plastic couch and he has a huge phobia with hospitals and Dr.'s offices.  But Sunday finally came and it was time to be discharged, which turned out to be a lot longer process than we had anticipated.  We woke up early and had everything packed and ready to go only to be sitting there waiting for about 4 hours before we were finally cleared to leave.  But once we were outta there, it was like breaking free from jail...it was the first time I had been outside in 3 days.

I woke up Sunday morning to this...melts my heart!

Sporting her new gown from Chase & Caitlin

She loved her car seat...I just love those cheeks.

Ready to go, get me outta here!

And we finally made it home!!  Jeff wanted to test out her swing, I think this was the longest amount of time she had been put down since she was born.
And her Granny came by to meet her...

My mom stayed with us for a week after Allie was born and was more helpful than I could have hoped for.  I really don't know what I would have done without her that first week.

Day 2

Today is actually Allie's 2 week birthday, but I'm just now getting around to blogging about her second day.  It turns out this parenting thing is a lot of work and takes up A LOT of time....who would have thunk it?

So on to Allie's second day of life, still in the hospital.  It was a great day surrounded by friends and family.

My brother and sister-in-law drove all the way from Knoxville just to meet Allie, it really meant a lot to us to have them there.

They would make such a cute little family :)

She's a natural...sorry Amanda, I'm just sayin.

Allie Nicole's first day of life

I didn't sleep a wink the night Allie was born, I think I was running on pure adrenaline.  I was so excited, and scared, and nervous and unsure about what to do next. Jeff got a little more sleep than I did, but not much since he was sleeping on a plastic pull out 'couch.'  Lots of people came by to see Allie the day she was born and we felt so thankful to have so many people that wanted to see her and love on her.  Here are a few pics from that day...

My sweet friends from work came to visit.  Richard was there too, but he was a little scared of holding Allie so we'll have to take her to visit him soon.

Our friend Roger even came to visit!  I grew up with Roger and he's been a very good friend of mine since 6th grade and Jeff and Roger are friends from college.  Roger doesn't hold newborns so Allie must be special.

My aunt Anne came from Lebanon to meet Allie

And Allie with her other grandpa (I think his name will be pops, but I don't know if that's set in stone yet or not).  She has 6 grandparents which means she'll be extra spoiled.

And my friend Lauren came by...she actually held her, but I didn't get a picture of it.

Allie already loves napping with her Aunt Jennifer...

And just a few more pics from Allie's first day in this world...
I love my little family so much!!
On her first day of life, she already does what her daddy says.  Every time she would start to cry Jeff would say "Allie stop whining, big girls don't cry" and amazingly, she would stop.  I think his voice is just soothing to her because he talked to her a lot in the womb.  But I hope she continues to obey him as she gets older...I'd much rather him be the disciplinarian so I don't have to :).  I think it's safe to say though that she's gonna be a daddy's girl.
